so, I apologise, I missed the start of this game – by the time I got there all the damage to the Vipers batting order was done and the re-build was on by opener and NZ captain Bates, plus retired England stalwart Brindle, who put on a 99 run stand to get the Vipers to an almost respectable 118. However, the Diamonds seemed to missed how hard it was to get the ball away on what was a slow wicket.
Linsey Smith (of Oxon, plays for Berkshire) took the chance of a call up to the Vipers to act as cover for the two players out due to rules on concussion in the last game (they were both back, but somehow she was still there) and took 4-10 including a wicket maiden.
